Battery Take-Back & Recycling Information

Under the European Union (Waste Batteries and Accumulators) Regulations, customers are entitled to return waste batteries free of charge. IT STAR supports the environmentally sound disposal and recycling of waste batteries.

Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste.

How to return waste batteries:

  • Customers may return waste portable batteries to any of our physical store locations free of charge.
  • Alternatively, waste batteries can be returned to any local authority battery recycling facility.

All waste batteries collected are sent for recycling in accordance with Irish and EU environmental regulations.

WEEE Take-Back & Recycling Information

Under the European Union (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment – WEEE) Regulations, customers are entitled to return waste electrical and electronic equipment free of charge.

ITSTAR supports the environmentally responsible disposal and recycling of WEEE.

How to return WEEE:

  • Customers may return waste electrical and electronic equipment to any of our physical store locations on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis when purchasing a similar new item.
  • Small WEEE items (with no external dimension greater than 25cm) may be returned free of charge without the obligation to purchase a new product.
  • Alternatively, WEEE can be returned to authorised local authority recycling facilities.

Electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of in household waste.

All WEEE collected by ITSTAR is treated and recycled in accordance with Irish and EU environmental legislation.
